Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026. Carat International LLC.

The short version

Global has no accounts. We do not know who you are. Nothing you look at, listen to, or search for is sent to us. The only thing we ever receive is a report you choose to file, and the only identifier attached to it is a random number your phone made up, which is not linked to you.

What stays on your phone

Everything you do in the app. Which hazards you filtered, where you moved the globe, which stations you played, which posts you read, and the list of things you have blocked. All of it lives on the device and is never transmitted.

What we receive, and only if you send it

If you report a station or a post, we receive: what you reported, the reason you chose, the station or account name and its public link, and a random identifier generated by your installation of the app.

That identifier is not an account. It contains no name, no email, no device serial, no advertising ID, and nothing derived from your hardware. It exists so that one installation cannot file thousands of reports. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new one, and we have no way to connect the two.

We do not receive your location. We do not receive your IP address in any form we store.

What we do not collect

No accounts. No email address. No location. No contacts. No advertising identifiers. No analytics of any kind. No third-party trackers. We do not sell anything about you, because we do not have anything about you to sell.

Reports and how long they are kept

A report is kept while it is open and while we act on it. Reports we reject are deleted after 90 days. Reports we uphold are kept, along with the entry they produced on the blocked list, because a moderation record that vanishes with the evidence is useless.

Who else touches it

Cloudflare hosts this service and its database. That is the only company that holds anything we receive.

The app itself talks directly from your phone to public data services, and those requests do not pass through us: NASA for imagery, the United States Geological Survey and NOAA and GDACS for hazard data, Radio Browser for station listings, the station's own server when you press play, and mastodon.social for public posts. Those services see an ordinary network request from your device, as any website would. We do not send them anything about you, and none of them are given an identifier from us.

Notifications

Global does not currently send push notifications. If that changes, this policy will be updated before it ships, and the app will ask for permission first.

Children

Global is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone. Since we collect nothing identifying from anybody, there is nothing to delete, but if you have a concern write to us.

Your rights

Because there is no account and no identifier tied to you, we cannot look you up, and we cannot produce or delete "your data" on request, as we hold none. If you want a specific report you filed removed, tell us what it was and we will find and delete it.
